DECORATION
Decoration is the key to a theme party & remember little things mean a lot. So choose a couple big things and a theme withtin a theme, you can make it all about the colour (Miley's favourite pink) and it'll all look very put together! Decoration is half the fun for your guests and can give them a hint of whats coming. Read on for tons of ideas & key tips.
OUTSIDE
Get everyone is theme party mood by decorating your front door!
*Hang a "stars dressing room" / "show star only" sign on your door or simply hang a couple baloons with the party theme *colours or miley's favourite: pink.
*Hang a pink boa outside or as one of the first things they see when walking in.
BALLOONS
Ballons can lite up a place, not only they bring colors but there's a ton of ways to glam them up.
*Colours. Go with a theme colour like pink or the same ones of the rest of the decoration. Make sure it shows you choose the colours, so don't go with over 3. To make it glam include silver or golden ones.
*Decorate baloons before you inflate them. Write "Miley Cyrus", "Hannah Montana" or your favourite lyrics or quotes from the show and the superstar, on some of the balloons. You can also write the date of the party and us them as extra suvenirs.
*A must: use nice strings to tie them. Go with anything with glitter/silver/gold or match your theme colours.
*Merchandise: mix up the tons of balloons with a couple HM ones, check out some options here.
CEILING
Ceiling decorations are always fun. If you don't wanna go over the top just choose one spot. The best in this theme and to keep it light is hanging CD's or records from the ceiling. If you put a ton together you'll create a different but fun effect like the HM promos.
RED CARPET & PAPARAZZI COVERAGE
A must in a Hannah Montana party are the photos: in the paparazzi way! That means lots and no camera fear. Make it part of the decoration turing it onto a stars red carpet must.
Create a photo backdrop (window drapes or curtains would work well), and put on a "red carpet" (rug, paper, etc.) on the way to it from the door or simply on that same space.
If you wanna go glam post photos/collages of yourself as if they were movie posters, so they'll show on the background just like in Hollywood events. You can alternate your collages with HM posters. Encourage all the guests to stop by to have a "formal" picture taken. If they need inspiration pose with them!
*You can later use the photo backdrop for "formal" photos of you and your guests or when they dress up as Miley/Hannah.
* To create the "paparazzi effect" have several guests flashing cameras at once so your guests will have all the flashes on. Make sure to get on there yourself too! having lots of guests taking pics at a once so it creates that red carpet effect.
*Once your decoration got everybody in paparazzi and stars mood, let them express their alter egos. Don't stop at photos, hand your guests a filming camera to do interviews and messages for you.
POSTERS
If you're doing the red carpet or photo backdrop then you've already have some Miley posters brighting up the room. But make sure she's got a good key place in the spot you'll be spending most of the time too.
*If you have a board, make a collage of all your favourite photos; paste big posters on the walls, or frame her photos in real picture frames and put them everywhere.
*If you have any Hannah Montana merchandising form towels to rugs put them on display, and have the cds around too.
FOOD PRESENTATION
Whatever food you decide to serve, the way you presentate it can be part of the decoration. Go with a backstage goodies style - just the way you see on Hannah Montana episodes -, make food a decoration by itself (read food) or go with a centerpiece or plates of the theme colour. CENTERPIECE + DETAILS
This is your chance to get ultra creative. The food table one is the main ceneterpiece but you can add details similar to it (smaller versions, same colors, etc.) to other tables decorations. If you do multiple ones remember to have one common element.
*The classic is a Miley photo but you can go glam and go with a sweet-16 style: one of those you wish you could take home!
*Go with candles for a very backstage style and choose Miley's favourite scent (vanilla) to make it special and give it a Miley dressing room atmosphere. Some candles are a decoration by itself, choose a big one and put it over some pink paper or put several small ones together. You can tie a pink string or the same balloons' one arround it with a nice mona for a cute touch, or make it all about the candelero.
*If you're going with the backstage look candles are a good mini decoration for everywhere and those places that just need something. Just make sure they're in safe places, you don't need to lit them all up at all just having them there will do.
*an original option is flowers. get a few of miley's favourites as the centerpiece and other key places. any big white flowers are always glam too. if you're putting them in a transparent jar make sure its decorated inside too (you can use little rocks for the beach or anything pink). Make sure they're tied so they stay the way you want them.
*Bubles won't be a "centerpiece" but they can add up a lot. Put them in reachable places so everyone can feel free to catch them and start making bubles anytime. Make sure they look cute so it goes with the decoration. Put them next to the little candles and it'll be perfect. Make your own bubles and buble wands, recipes and instructions here
THE RIBBON
Go totally star and put a red ribbon in front of your cake's table or any other important activity of the party spot. You can later turn the cutting of the ribbon a big event. Total star moment for you! Go with red or your colour theme's (like Disneyland Paris did [photo]).
AUTOGRAPHS BOARD
You might have seen it in big parties and you sure have seen photos of Miley autographing a board, guitar or even a wall along with other celebs at award shows. So why not ask your guests to autograph something for you? This way you'll have one more wonderful memory and they'll feel like stars too.
LIGHTS
Light can completly change a room. Try to find a disco ball or funky lights from friends and relatives. Or you can simply change your regular lamp bulbs for coloured ones.
ATMOSPHERE
for the final touch of the atmosphere you can play Hannah Montana episodes in silence on a big tv screen, or proyect it to an empty wall. you can also make a selection of all the music videos and performances. It will be more upbeat even without even in mute, and you get the volumne up later too. Use it whie dancing too, the tv lights and distraction will help get the dance started.
*If you're going for a star lounge look put some teen magazines on the tables too.
MERCHANDISE DETAILS
Wanna go with the classic and get the Hannah Montana logos and Miley's face around? It'll be really cute for sure, and even just a couple key items can help the theme become a lot more clear and fun. So make sure to pick your favourites.
One big tip, don't make it all about the official supplies. Even if you get every single product out there, make sure you give the party your special touch using other ideas or coming up with your own ones. You'll enjoy the supplies even more! Tip #2: the official merchandise is perfect for those last minute stuff you couldn't find an other way too, from a centerpiece to a birthday banner or plates. Or if you're in a hurry you can get a general party kit too. The best part, you can get everything online!
